-
What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?
A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is the primary chiropractic treatment method for back pain.
-
How Does Spinal Manipulation Work?
Spinal manipulation relieves pressure on joints, reduces inflammation, and improves nerve function. It has been a trusted form of treatment since the ancient Greek Hippocrates documented manipulative techniques in his writings in 1500 B.C. Today, spinal manipulation is used to treat conditions such as allergies, menstrual cramps, and headaches.
There are well over 100 types of adjustment techniques used by chiropractors worldwide. Some practitioners may use a hands-on approach with movement, while other techniques are more gentle and can even be entirely hands-off.
Regardless of how they are performed, these techniques are intended to restore or enhance joint function to reduce pain and resolve joint inflammation. When vertebrae shift out of place, there is an overall systemic response from the muscular system to the central nervous system. Without proper alignment and flow, our nerves, immune systems, and minds cannot function at their greatest potential.
Overall, spinal adjustments and manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level without discomfort. When the body is adequately aligned, it can respond and perform as it was built to do.

Can chiropractic treatment help my pelvic and pubic pain during pregnancy?
Suppose you're experiencing severe pain over your pubic bones that is gradually increasing and inhibiting your movement, even walking, during your pregnancy. In that case, it may indicate that you have Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD). SPD is an injury to the pubic symphysis that occurred during a previous pregnancy, most likely during labor and delivery. Fortunately, SPD can be managed with chiropractic care.

Why do infants need to be adjusted by a chiropractor?
Have you ever thought about how your baby was positioned in your womb during your pregnancy?
Maybe their hand was rested against their cheek, or they were breech at some point. Now, let's think about your birth.
Did you undergo any form of induction to start labor, or was there a need for forceps or manual assistance from your provider to deliver the baby?
If any forceful pulling was used, it could cause spinal misalignment in the baby, which could benefit from a chiropractor's adjustment.
Here's an example: if your baby is having trouble nursing on one side, it could be due to a misalignment in their neck, causing discomfort when they turn their head to nurse on a particular breast. A gentle spinal adjustment by a trained chiropractor can correct the misalignment and help your baby nurse comfortably and efficiently on both sides.
-
Will my child receive the same chiropractic treatment that I do as an adult?
When adjusting children or infants, it is essential to note that it is done gently and with minimal pressure. The pressure is similar to that required to balance a dime on your pinky finger. There is no cracking or popping sound associated with the process.
-
Can I use my HSA, FSA, or HRA to pay for services?
Yes. We accept all of these. You can use them on chiropractic, massage, products sold, and nutrition services that we offer.
You may require a letter of medical necessity, which can be provided after an exam by a Chiropractor in the office.
